1. About the Service

HeiLocal.ro is a local search engine operated by Softescu SRL, built to make it easier to discover relevant products, services and information in Romania.

Our service automatically indexes public content available on the internet and organizes it to make searching easier for users.

2. Use of the Service

By accessing and using HeiLocal.ro, you agree to:

• Use the service in accordance with the applicable laws of Romania and the European Union
• Not attempt to disrupt or impair the operation of the system
• Not use the service for illegal or abusive activities
• Not extract data by automated means (scraping) without our consent

3. Personal Data

Basic search can be used without an account and without signing in, based on an anonymous session token.

Certain optional features, however, require creating an account or uploading an image and involve processing personal data:

• User account (optional) — email address and password, for signing in and saving preferences
• Virtual try-on ("Try on") (optional) — a photo you upload, processed with the Google Gemini service to generate a representation of the product being worn
• Newsletter (optional) — email address

These features are only enabled at your initiative. Full details about what data we collect, for what purpose, who we share it with (including Google Gemini) and how long we keep it are described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Technical Data Collected

For the service to work, we store the following anonymous and local information in your browser (localStorage):

• Anonymous session token: A randomly generated unique identifier used to keep your search preferences
• Search preferences: Search history, colour and price preferences for personalized recommendations
• AI Assistant conversations: Conversations with the AI assistant, to improve the search experience

This data is stored only on our server, associated with the session token, and cannot be associated with your real identity.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

HeiLocal.ro does not use cookies. All data needed for the service to work is stored using localStorage technology (local storage in the browser).

To display favicons (website icons), we use the DuckDuckGo Icons API service, which does not set cookies and does not track.

6. Indexed Content

HeiLocal.ro automatically indexes public content available on the internet, including:

• Public web pages from Romania
• Publicly displayed products and services
• Publicly displayed contact information (phone numbers, emails shown on websites)

Indexing is done automatically by our crawler, HeiLocalBot, which respects each website's robots.txt file and identifies itself on every request with a dedicated user agent. Full details about the crawler — the user agent, the IP address it connects from and how you can allow or block it through robots.txt — are available on the bot information page (heilocal.ro/bot).

Important: If you own a website and want it excluded from the index, you can block HeiLocalBot through robots.txt (see the instructions on the bot page) or contact us at hei@heilocal.ro.

7. Intellectual Property

The content indexed by HeiLocal.ro belongs to its original owners. We do not claim intellectual property rights over the indexed content.

The HeiLocal.ro service, including but not limited to its source code, design, logo and brand, is the property of Softescu SRL.

8. Limitation of Liability

HeiLocal.ro is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• The accuracy or timeliness of the indexed information
• The continuous availability of the service
• The absence of errors or interruptions

Softescu SRL is not responsible for:

• The content of the indexed websites
• Transactions made with the shops shown
• Direct or indirect damages resulting from the use of the service

9. Changes to the Terms

We reserve the right to change these terms at any time. Changes will be published on this page with an updated date.

Continued use of the service after the changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Romanian law. Any dispute will be settled by the competent courts of Romania.
